Keys to New Post Office Handed Over To Postal Services Dept
20/08/2003 - A ceremony to hand over the keys of a building to the Postal Services Department was held Tuesday. The new post office is located along Jalan Seria-Tutong.

The construction of the complex is an on-going government project to upgrade public services, especially for residents in Lumut, Sungai Liang and nearby areas. The new building located at Jalan Seria-Tutong was constructed at a cost of six hundred and 40 thousand dollars.

The post office was constructed under the 8th National Development Plan and was completed last month. Among the services available are the sending of money orders, express mail services and the renewal of road-tax and driving licenses for class three. Residents in the nearby areas can also settle their electric, water and telephone bills at the counters. The post office building also houses the automatic tele-machines and telephone booths. The Lumut Post Office is manned by seven personnel.

The Acting Assistant Director of Public Works Department, Pengiran Haji Menudin presented the key to the Post Master General, Pengiran Haji Mohd. Yaakub, who later handed it over to the Assistant Superintendent of the Lumut Postal Service Office, Dayangku Hajah Mariam.
