Mentiri Post Office Officially Opened
19/03/2007 - The Mentiri Post Office was officially opened by the guest of honour, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Hj Awang Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, the Minister of Communications.

The Mentiri Post Office was established to make post-related services easier for the public, especially those in the surrounding area, and to meet the public's expectations of the Postal Services Department.

This is the 24th post office in Brunei Darussalam. It is one of the projects under the 8th National Development Plan. Its construction started on October 1, 2002 and was completed on March 6, 2007. Its construction cost more than $325,000.

Apart from the usual services, the new post office also provides services for money transfers, post haste mail, counters for payments of water and electricity bills, renewal of driving licence class I and III, as well as renewal of road tax.

In conjunction with the opening ceremony, the signing of a contract was held between the Postal Services Department and Juramas Technologies Sdn Bhd for the establishment of "Print N Post", a company that provides the "Hybrid Mail" service for the first time ever in Brunei Darussalam.

The service enables the government agencies, private sectors and 'bulk mailers' to post monthly notices and bills. The service not only saves time and money but also allows an increased amount to be sent to customers.
