23/01/2003 - The Postal Services Department is now the centre for delivery and receiving government official letters. This is partly to facilitate ministries and government office boys in their tasks of delivering and receiving letters to and from designated destinations at one place and on time. It is open every working hours for half an hour from 9.30 in the morning to 10 in the morning and from 2.30 to 3 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the location for similar centres in the Tutong, Belait and Temburong Districts will set by their respective district offices. The letters from ministries and government departments will only be delivered through the centre during the stated times.
Every ministry and government department must not accept letters which are delivered directly to the ministry and department except the letters and documents addressed to the Office of His Majesty the Sultan And Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam, members of the royal family, confidential secretaries, confidential and secret letters, tender documents, vouchers and allowance application forms.
In this regard, a briefing on the procedures in delivering government official letters for office boys was held Wednesday. The briefing was given by a representative from the Management Services Department, Ministry of Home Affairs and the Postal Services Department. |
